What alloy is best for seawater corrosion?
Inconel 625, Monel 400, Duplex 2507 and 254SMO are common candidates for seawater corrosion, but the best choice depends on whether the exposure is flowing, stagnant, crevice-prone, welded, loaded or high temperature.
Is Duplex 2507 suitable for seawater?
Duplex 2507 is widely considered for seawater and desalination service because of its high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content, high PREN and high mechanical strength.
When should I choose Monel K500 instead of Monel 400?
